Picture-Bound Sound

Broadcast owns effects, foley, room tone, environmental beds, and ambience when their meaning and acceptance depend on an exact picture, scene, cut, claim, or editorial timeline. This is picture-bound sound design, not music, ordinary speech, or a universal sonic library.

broadcast.design_picture_sound@1 begins with a PictureSoundBrief@1, locked picture digest and timebase, semantic event and space roles, source and rights references, target channel/loudness profile, and acceptance criteria. Recording, synthesis, a compound video-model result, licensed material, layering, or signal processing may propose candidates; every layer retains its source, tool or provider revision, transform, rights posture, time relation, and digest.

The accepted PictureSoundRevision@1 and optional PictureSoundCueMap@1 bind event, place, material, distance, perspective, duration, continuity, cut relation, and uncertainty. Technical probes can establish boundaries, clipping, channels, loudness, and format. They cannot decide that the sound communicates the visible event or serves the editorial purpose; Broadcast owns that review. A selected set seals as PictureSoundBundle@1 for exact admission by Edit.

Riffmaw owns music, including musical vocals and the musical mix/master. Language Edition owns spoken same- or cross-language performance and captions against a locked source. Echo owns speech lifecycle only. Application-specific game sound may remain with Foundry; a reusable standalone sound library serving independent applications would need to prove a future standalone-sound Composition with its own records, judgment, finish, and recovery. Broadcast does not mint that owner pre-emptively.

When a video model emits synchronized sound, Core retains one technical attempt while Prism records the compound container, child-stream digests, timebase, and technical provenance. Broadcast may admit the picture-sound facet only after its role and rights are explicit. Unexpected or inseparable audio is quarantined or the declared compound use is refused; it is never accepted because generate_sound happened to be enabled.

Changing the picture digest, cut, source claim, timebase, or sound brief stales affected picture sound without rewriting history. Lost acknowledgement from a recorder, generator, renderer, or destination remains unknown until reconciled. A correction creates a forward revision, and successful sound design grants no final mux or publication authority.

Continue with Edit for final audiovisual relation and Render for the local publication candidate.
