Sources

Sources establishes what Broadcast may claim before polish makes weak evidence persuasive. It owns the editorial evidence set and claim lineage; it does not certify the entire world behind a source.

Freeze the evidence

Only named snapshots enter the project. Each records the source identity, captured revision or digest, relevant span, author or publisher when known, classification, rights posture, intended audience, permitted purpose, disclosures, and retention. A live URL can support capture, but it is not the frozen evidence.

The editorial brief pins the question, audience, target, scope, tone, exclusions, review standard, and freshness boundary. A materially changed question or source set creates a forward revision.

Build the claim ledger

Every factual claim binds to one or more source spans and records whether it is quotation, extraction, calculation, synthesis, or interpretation. The record keeps confidence, assumptions, contradicting evidence, reviewer state, and each article, script, caption, or timeline object that depends on it.

A weak, stale, disputed, or ungrounded claim remains marked. It may be narrowed, attributed, removed, returned for research, or refused; it is never upgraded by fluent wording. A later correction appends a corrected or withdrawn state and marks dependants stale without rewriting the historical claim.

Source rights, privacy, likeness, and Portal egress are evaluated where the material enters and again where the intended use changes. The resulting evidence and claim revisions pass to Script. They carry no permission to synthesize a voice, alter another Composition's asset, render, or publish.
