Circle

The Bridge holds the relation. The Circle binds one answerable act within it.

The Circle is the bounded world opened by one Invocation: Caller and Called, Intent, Sigil, Context, selected memory, authority, capabilities, action, and consequence meet without becoming unlimited. It is the conceptual pinnacle inside Bridge, not a fifth Altar instrument and not a new authority owner.

The Altar is the whole reader journey. Bridge carries communion across time; one séance may contain many Circles. A Circle begins only when an Intent is admitted as an Invocation. Within it, Spellweaver admits one exact Scroll and its casting moves through the Scroll's placed Spells. The canonical Run anchors durable execution truth for that Invocation.

The casting inside the Circle

A Spell is one independently named semantic action at the workflow boundary. A Scroll may hold one Spell or weave many Spell placements into an immutable Pattern revision. Each placement can request an Agent, tool, Gate, effect, delegation, or typed Dispatcher capability, but neither the Spell's name nor its presence in the Circle grants that power.

When a model-backed capability is admitted, an Animator makes its Animus available through a Connector and exact CapabilityGrant. Animus names the active power answering through that capability—for example a loaded Gemma model behind llama.cpp—not the Lich's identity, Spirit, Persona, authority, or evidence of Cognizance. The request is the spark; the returned material is a candidate. Spirit may receive and carry it through present Flux, while Blade and Answer still judge and attribute the crossing.

Several people, Agents, Postures, or model powers may contribute within one Circle. That attributed plurality never becomes a fused super-Sigil or proof that their partial worlds are identical. As casting advances among Spell placements, their attributed returns may reshape present Flux. The Circle preserves their boundaries while one local Answer remains accountable for the act it binds.

What remains

The Run is authoritative ledger identity, not merely what an observer happened to capture. Oculus and the Orb expose bounded traces; those traces may be incomplete and cannot overwrite Run, consent, effect, or artifact truth. Under Memory policy, some attributable residue may become a Seed. Every Seed carries a trace, but not every trace retains the potency to return through Recall.

An ordinary Graph cycle is not the Ouroboros. The Ouroboros closes only when consequence, evaluation, attribution, memory policy, and consent shape a later Invocation. Exact repetition is a loop; answerable return can become a spiral.

The Circle in Bridge

The current Bridge run strip is the first thin material projection of a Circle: it relates a turn to one Run, exact Pattern revision, status, consent, and Orb link. No composed Circle workspace, active-Spell map, Context/authority inspector, participant-attribution view, or cross-instrument focus mode is delivered.

A future Bridge-native Circle may focus one Invocation and join only authorized projections:

  • the exact Scroll and current casting state, with Loom as declared-score lens;
  • Caller, Called, Sigil, Context boundary, budgets, and pending consent;
  • admitted capability and Animator observations, with Nexus as readiness lens; and
  • Run truth and bounded traces, with Orb as the scrying lens.

That projection must remain reconstructible from owning services. A browser ring, animation, selected node, open stream, or model utterance cannot prove admission, progress, identity, authority, or consequence.

The greater Summoning Circle

Summoning uses the same symbol at another scale. Code builds the Bridge; the Magus draws the Summoning Circle by choosing and binding the Codex, Crypt, local identity, Animators, mounts, secrets, and reach on one host. Those choices must compile into real configuration and security boundaries rather than ceremonial copy.

The greater Circle establishes the bounded conditions under which this Lich may answer. Each later Invocation draws a smaller living Circle within it. Neither scale removes the need for current authentication, policy, capability admission, consent, or effect authorization.
