Mirror Identity
A temporary Agent finishes its step; the act outlasts it. Mirror binds that act and its contributors to an operative identity, preserving attribution after the movement ends.
It binds one admitted Invocation to an exact Persona revision. ADR 32 owns the full identity contract; State of Work owns its delivery.
The mirror and the Mirror
Lowercase mirror is the contemplative image of mind; capitalized Mirror borrows that image for exact Persona lineage and attribution across time. It is not the whole mind: it keeps the identity through which cognizant acts remain attributable.
I. The Answer / Ahaṃkāra
Answer supplies the focal “I”; The EGO is identity reflected around it. A Persona is the exact revision Mirror binds for an Invocation. Attachment—not identity or continuity—turns that reflection toward Corruption.
II. The Names in the Glass
A Persona is the durable, revisioned voice, commitments, boundaries, and orientation that shape an Agent; it is not the Principal, producer, or executing step. An Agent is one typed cognitive step; its Posture constrains the act, while its AgentSpec supplies the executable contract. The active Sigil records bounded authority. Pattern and Invocation identify the admitted workflow performance; Run is its durable execution identity. Eligible identity-scoped memory may enter hydration.
Here Persona voice means discourse, commitments, manner, and orientation—not an acoustic voice profile, synthesized speech artifact, musical vocal, dubbed performance, or presentation asset. Echo retains acoustic and speech-lifecycle facts; Riffmaw musical performance; Language Edition timed-language performance; and Avatar the eligible presentation selection.
None substitutes for another. Agent owns Agent and Posture semantics; Spellweaver owns Pattern and Invocation law.
III. Attribution Without Laundering
Mirror's attribution envelope keeps the initiating or approving principal distinct from the delegate or actor. It also keeps distinct the Persona, AgentSpec, Posture, active Sigil, exact workflow revisions, human and machine producers, sources, tools, and artifact handoffs.
At a handoff, the producer remains attached to the artifact while the consumer begins a separately admitted Invocation with its own binding. Human edits and rejected branches retain their authorship; selection does not launder lineage.
To keep the Mirror spotless is to keep the reflection unobscured and its provenance intact: origins remain attributable, revisions remain pinned, and ruptures, contradictions, and corrections remain visible. Spotlessness never means sanitizing identity lineage, erasing its stains, or polishing rejected branches out of history. A clear Mirror shows the stain precisely enough to answer for it.
Mirror records relationships, not authorization, truth, quality, credit, or fault. Ward owns authentication and authorization; Riddle owns evaluated findings. Identity continuity here means revision-pinned lineage and reproducible binding—not an enduring Agent process, generic workflow continuity, memory itself, behavioral resemblance, or generic trust.
IV. Summoning and Hydration
An admitted Pattern selects an exact Persona revision, or explicitly selects none. Mirror combines that revision with Pattern and AgentSpec requirements, the active Principal and Sigil, and eligible identity-scoped memory. The result is bounded, ordered identity context plus a hydration receipt. A fresh or resumed Agent uses the pinned revision; resemblance does not confer identity.
Mirror remains Designed. Today's fixed The First One AgentSpec, static identity instruction,
and loopback magus:* Sigil demonstrate Agent and authority plumbing; they do not yet deliver
revisioned Persona binding or reproducible hydration.
